For the rice balls you need

2. Coconut grated  1/2  cup

Soak rice for 6 hours or overnight. Grind this with coconut and salt without water (I used my wet grinder ) to a thick dough.
Make small balls with this dough. Keep aside.

For the dhal gravy you need
1.  Tuvar dhal 1/2  cup
2.  Green chillies (cut lengthwise)  4
3.  Red chillies  (cut into pieces)  2
4.  Curry leaves  few
5.  Mustad  1tsp
6.  salt  to taste
7.  Ghee or Oil  for seasoning

Pressure cook dhal with green chillies untill soft. Add salt and enough  water.(it should be watery like rasam).  Do the seasoning with mustad, dry chillies and curry leaves in ghee or oil .Boil the gravy . Put the flame on low and add the rice balls one by one. Cover and cook on low heat for 20 minutes or untill the rice balls are cooked. Once cooked the gravy will get thick . Serve hot.
